My name is Brenda Pearson, and I'm your dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. With a warm heart and a listening ear, I'm here to guide you through the ups and downs of mental health.
I bring over three years of experience directly working with individuals facing mental health challenges, as well as a solid background in emergency care and nursing education. Whether it's navigating the complexities of medication or exploring alternative treatments, I'm committed to providing personalized care that respects your unique journey.
My approach is all about making sure you feel heard and understood. I've honed my skills in assessing, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric conditions, always with a focus on clear communication free from medical jargon. My goal is to create a safe space where we can work together toward your well-being.
Education has been a cornerstone of my career, not just for myself but for others as well. As an Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor and Nurse Educator, I've shared my knowledge with aspiring nurses and fellow healthcare professionals alike.
When I'm not in the clinic or classroom, you might find me sharing insights at professional lectures or staying up-to-date with the latest in nursing practice as a proud member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Your mental health is precious, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. Let's embark on this path to healing together.

How do you work with clients with anxiety?
In managing anxiety, I prioritize creating a supportive and understanding environment. Medication options are discussed, but I also emphasize exploring non-pharmacological interventions. Cognitive-behavioral strategies, coping mechanisms, and lifestyle adjustments are integral components of the treatment plan, ensuring a holistic and personalized approach to anxiety management.
Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner driven by a passion for understanding and treating the complexities of mental health. My motivation stems from witnessing the positive impact of personalized care and empowering individuals to manage their mental health effectively. Education, both for myself and others, remains a driving force, as does the fulfillment derived from supporting individuals on their unique journeys to well-being.
How do you work with clients with depression?
For clients facing depression, my focus is on empathetic and personalized care. Medication management is part of the approach, but equally important is exploring the root causes and individualized coping mechanisms. Through careful assessment and collaboration, we work together to formulate a holistic treatment plan that addresses the unique aspects of each person's depressive experience.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
I'm a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over three years of direct experience in mental health. My approach centers around treating individuals as unique persons, not just conditions. I am committed to fostering understanding, clear communication, and collaborative decision-making. With a background in emergency care, nursing education, and a focus on continuous learning, I bring a holistic perspective to mental health care.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Free Consultation (Telehealth) - 10 minutes
An opportunity for potential patients to discuss their concerns or needs to determine if their services are a good fit and to receive initial advice or guidance.
Initial Visit (Telehealth) - 30 minutes
An initial visit involves a medical history review, an assessment of your specific symptoms and concerns, possible diagnostic tests to evaluate a patient's health, identify issues, develop and discuss treatment options.
Follow-up Visit (Telehealth) - 15 minutes
A follow-up visit with a provider involves checking the progress of the patient's treatment plan, assessing any new symptoms or concerns, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed to ensure optimal health outcomes.
Medication Refill (Telehealth) - 10 minutes
A medication refill appointment typically involves a brief review of his/her existing patient's medical history, confirming the need for the medication refill, and issuing a new prescription. It may also involve evaluating any side effects or concerns related to the medication and ensuring that the treatment plan is still appropriate for the patient's needs.
How can you provide care remotely?
I offer remote care through telehealth platforms, maintaining a secure and confidential environment. Virtual consultations enable us to discuss symptoms, treatment plans, and medication management while ensuring accessibility and convenience. I utilize technology to conduct thorough assessments and provide ongoing support, ensuring that distance is not a barrier to quality mental health care.
How do you work with clients with bipolar disorder?
I approach bipolar disorder with a comprehensive strategy, integrating medication management tailored to individual needs. I aim to foster a deep understanding of the condition, working collaboratively to identify effective strategies for mood stabilization. Clear communication and ongoing assessment are key elements in ensuring optimal care for individuals navigating bipolar disorder.
