About Erica
Welcome to my page! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I see clients statewide via telehealth. I am passionate about holistic wellness and currently pursuing a certification in integrative mental health. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or are interested in becoming a client.
How do you work with clients with depression?
When treating depression, I help my clients take small steps towards their goals. Together, we will work to increase your functioning across multiple areas of your life and get to the root of what is holding you back. Collaboratively, I work with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that may incorporate a combination of evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and psychodynamic approaches. This holistic approach addresses the underlying causes of depression and equips clients with practical coping skills. I also emphasize the significance of self-care, including regular exercise, healthy sleep habits, and balanced nutrition. Encouraging clients to engage in activities they find enjoyable and fulfilling helps to promote positive emotions and boosts overall well-being. Throughout the therapeutic journey, I strive to empower my clients by providing education and resources for them to better understand depression, recognize early warning signs, and navigate setbacks. By focusing on building resilience and fostering a sense of empowerment, clients are empowered to take charge of their mental health and work towards long-term recovery.
How can you provide care remotely?
I provide care to clients located across the state of California. All my sessions are conducted over a HIPAA compliant video platform.
How does trauma focused therapy work and how can it help?
If you are seeking therapy for trauma-related issues, you can anticipate learning to deepen the connection with your body and implement new ways to deal with triggers, flashbacks, and internal dysregulation. Whether your trauma is acute or complex, I seek to help you understand the ways your body and mind respond to the fight/flight response. Together, we work to help you establish and maintain a feeling of safety and connectedness, internal regulation, and improved communication skills. I have experience working with those who have suffered medical and religious trauma.
