What's your experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)?

I predominantly use CBT along with a few other modalities. I think it is important to identify why we are thinking the way we are or where thoughts come from so we can appropriately change our behaviors.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I became a therapist because I truly have a passion for people. I enjoy working and seeing the growth that individuals are capable of making, even in their darkest moments. I continue being a therapist because people never stop amazing me and the resistance they have to overcome.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?

A typical session with me begins with where the client is at. I want to know why you wanted to come to therapy and what your goals are. I try to meet each client where they are in their journey. I also want to make sure we are touch on something positive that has happened or that is coming up during each session as well.

What's your experience with children or adolescents?

I have a long history of working with both adolescents and children. I have worked with children in private practice, in the community and in their schools. I enjoy working with teenagers and young adults making those difficult life transitions.
