Hello! I'm Honor Schleicher, a dedicated counselor and social worker based in New York. With a Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University, I specialize in advanced clinical practice. I'm passionate about providing empathetic and solution-focused care to individuals and families dealing with mental illness and substance use disorders.
I currently work with Healing Our Parts therapy practice where I see individual and couples clients.
At my previous employment, I worked with dual diagnosis mental health and substance use concerns. My approach is all about being there for my clients, guiding them through challenging times with compassion and expertise.
Before this role, I gained valuable experience working with students in various educational settings in New York and Kansas. My work included individual counseling, crisis intervention, and helping students achieve their best in both personal and academic aspects.
I’m committed to continuing education and have completed important trainings, including TF-CBT and Naloxone Certification. I am currently working towards EMDR certification but am not yet certified as an EMDR practitioner.
*Treatment philosophy
Treatment Philosophy I believe in a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. For each case, I create a specialized treatment plan catered to your specific needs and goals. By fostering a supportive environment, I help individuals navigate the challenges of mental health, life transitions, trauma, and substance use disorders. I employ evidence-based techniques, such as trauma-informed care and cognitive behavioral therapy, to promote healing. Collaboration is key—I work closely with families and interdisciplinary teams to create effective treatment plans. Everyone deserves a space to heal.
