I look and talk just like you! I’m Lakisha Shears, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland and the District of Columbia. I'm a migrant from Memphis Tennessee who fell in love with the rich culture and resilience of both Maryland and DC. I graduated with my Master's in Social Work from Morgan State University! I’m a solution-focused therapist, who is passionate about providing therapy that is unique to you. I specialize in therapy for individuals who lack the self-confidence needed to achieve their goals. Over the last decade, I have worked in various capacities, including education, domestic violence, child & adult protective services, substance abuse, and the outpatient mental health fields. My southern roots attribute to my uncanny ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I provide a unique, non-conservative approach to therapy that many refer to as “half-holistic, half-hood”. I’m dedicated to serving unconventional therapy seekers.
