About Adrian
Hi! My name is Adrian Gaither. I am a licensed professional counselor in Georgia, working with clients who are seeking to make healthy changes in their lives. I specialize in couples therapy, trained in Gottman Level 1. I am trained in Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients manage depression and anxiety long-term, and I am trained in Trauma-Focused Therapy to help those experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder. Therapy is meant to be more than a visit; therapy is a transformational experience. My approach is to first understand the problem my clients bring into therapy, before I begin providing heavily researched treatment; treatment that is known to be successful in managing specific problem areas long-term. I listen to all of my clients and see them as a whole person - a human being. My approach is to see them. My clients can expect to have a new understanding of themselves and how to approach the problems they bring to therapy.

How do you work with clients with anxiety?
I see anxiety as 4 components. Many measure and describe anxiety as an emotion. I concur with that understanding, and I would add anxiety as also being the body, our thoughts, and actions associated with that feeling. Working with my clients mean working with all 4 parts. I explore how these parts show up in my clients' lives, then collaboratively create a treatment plan with my clients that is aligned with managing anxiety in a much better way to where anxiety no longer disrupts their lives.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
How can you provide care remotely?
Great question! I provide virtual individual and couples therapy using secure communication methods. There are three different options for synchronous scheduled therapy sessions: video (most popular), phone and messenger. Phone and messenger will only be provided by approved requests after the assessment process. Not all clients may qualify for phone and messenger services. Please keep in mind: clients use their own devices to connect to the client portal, where the therapist is using a secure domain on their end. Because clients are using their own computers and phones, they are responsible for keeping their information secure. Recommendations include malware protection software, secure confidential setting when sessions are being held, and not having any other tabs opened during the appointment. Clients will receive Disclosure Consent and Tele-Mental Health Forms as part of their treatment initial intake packet. For more information, I encourage you to visit www.positive-elevations.com or contact me directly on office phone at (770) 738-4059 during business hours found on website.
