About Adrienne
Hi. I’m Adrienne Licari, LCSW-R, the founder of Positive Therapy Services. I work with teens, adults, and couples who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. With a steady, compassionate approach, I help clients make sense of what they’re going through, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change at a pace that feels right for them.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For many people, the hardest part of therapy is simply starting. It’s normal to feel unsure, hesitant, or even skeptical, especially if you’ve spent a long time handling things on your own. I often wish people knew that therapy isn’t about being judged, analyzed, or told what to do. It’s a space to slow down, be understood, and make sense of what you’re carrying. You don’t need to have the “right” words or a clear goal to begin. We start where you are, at a pace that feels comfortable, and work together to figure out what would actually help. Reaching out doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It means you’re ready to take care of yourself in a new way.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
People considering working with me should know that I approach therapy with warmth, honesty, and deep respect for each person’s story. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of what’s happening, offering perspective, and supporting you as you move toward change that feels meaningful and sustainable. When I work with individuals, our focus is on understanding patterns, building insight, and developing tools that help you feel more grounded and confident in your daily life. With couples, I create a balanced, supportive space where both partners feel heard. We work on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and strengthening connection, especially during times of stress, conflict, or transition. No matter the challenge you’re facing, my goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and better equipped to move forward together or on your own.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy with me is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in real life. Sessions are a space where you can show up as you are. No pressure to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out. We spend time understanding what’s been weighing on you, how it’s showing up in your day-to-day life, and what you want to feel or do differently. I take an active, supportive approach, offering insight, practical tools, and gentle guidance while always keeping you in the lead. Some sessions focus on building skills or coping strategies, others on patterns in relationships, past experiences, or big life transitions. Everything we do is tailored to you, at a pace that feels safe and manageable, with the goal of helping you feel more grounded, connected, and confident moving forward.
