I'm a therapist in San Francisco specializing in anxiety, men's mental health, and relationship issues. I believe that effective therapy is both insightful and pragmatic - you should come away from therapy sessions with a better understanding of what you're facing, along with some ideas about how to get started on solutions.
I help people find new ways of approaching their concerns so that their lives can be more manageable and fulfilling. This may mean having less conflict in your relationship, less anxiety, less negative thoughts, or making some big changes to your day-to-day life.
Clients find me to be collaborative, open, and curious. I want to make sure you feel safe to explore difficult topics, and that you always feel I'm on your side, even when I'm challenging you to step outside of your comfort zone.

How do you work with clients with anxiety?
My approach to anxiety varies depending on how it's presenting in your life, but there are a few things that are pretty consistent in my approach.
* Learning to accept feelings of anxiety in the moment so you can move on, rather than getting trapped in a struggle.
* Exploring your history with anxiety, and what beliefs you might have about the job it's doing in your life. If you come to a deeper understanding if your anxiety, you can reduce the power it holds over you.
* Evaluating coping mechanisms, and learning effective tools for managing anxiety in the moment.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
Effective therapy keeps your needs in mind. You will be given the time and space to figure out what you want out of therapy, and though you may encouraged to get out of your comfort zone, you shouldn't be forced out of it. Therapy should be collaborative: you should be empowered to use the time as you like, and to say no when you don't like where it's going.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Sesssions with me are collaborative, empathetic, and adaptive to your needs. Some sessions may feel heavy as we delve into difficult topics, and others may feel lighthearted as we discuss your wins and focus on your strengths. I aim to bring a lot of curiosity to our sessions, and to be as open as possible about what I'm seeing and what I think might help.
