Dr. Alexander Iofin is a board-certified psychiatrist with more than 50 years of experience in medicine and psychiatry. Today, his private practice focuses on helping adults with ADHD, anxiety, and depression and treat patients throughout the state of New Jersey.
Dr. Iofin understands how these conditions can affect nearly every part of life—from concentration, motivation, and productivity to relationships, work, sleep, and overall well-being. He provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and evidence-based medication management, taking time to understand each patient’s symptoms, history, challenges, and goals. His approach combines decades of clinical experience with thoughtful, personalized care.
Dr. Iofin began his remarkable medical career at just 16 years old, when he entered medical school in the former Soviet Union, graduating with high honors and distinction. After immigrating to the United States, he completed the required medical examinations and continued his postgraduate training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, completing a four-year psychiatry residency program in two years, followed by fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
For more than 25 years, Dr. Iofin has also been recognized as an expert in psychiatry by New Jersey courts. He has conducted thousands of complex psychiatric and independent evaluations, including court-appointed assessments and evaluations involving disability, U.S. veterans, and the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office. His work has been admitted into evidence in federal proceedings involving veterans.
Dr. Iofin has also taught medical students and residents, prepared psychiatrists for board examinations, and participated in developing examination questions for physicians.
