About Amethyst

I have been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner for the last 4 years, practicing in the Chicagoland area. Prior to obtaining my Master’s degree, I worked as a Registered Nurse for 10 years in several different settings. My job is more than treating an illness. My approach to service and treatment is always deliver extraordinary patient centered care and is individualized to meet each patient’s needs. I’m a huge advocate for patient’s rights and encourage my patient's to take a proactive approach in their care. I was born on a dairy farm in Wisconsin and moved to Chicago, IL when I was 18 years old where I was able to attend college and obtain my degrees in nursing. I received my Bachelors and Master’s degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I became a therapist to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. Growing up on a dairy farm and advancing my education in nursing instilled in me a deep sense of empathy and dedication. The trust my patients place in me and the positive impact I have on their lives motivate me to continue this rewarding work.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

Therapy is a safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings. It can provide valuable insights and coping strategies, improving your quality of life. Seeking help is a courageous step towards better mental and emotional health.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I have over a decade of nursing experience and prioritize patient-centered care. I am a strong advocate for patient rights and encourage proactive health management. My approach is compassionate, empathetic, and individualized to meet each patient's unique needs.

How can you provide care remotely?

I offer telehealth services, allowing patients to receive care through video consultations, phone calls, and electronic communications. This enables me to perform assessments, manage chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and provide health education from a distance.
