How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
I work with trauma and PTSD in a thoughtful, paced, and highly individualized way. My approach begins with creating a sense of safety, trust, and emotional stability, especially for clients who may have spent years functioning well on the outside while carrying significant pain internally. Together, we explore how trauma may be affecting your nervous system, relationships, sense of self, emotional regulation, and ability to feel present in your life.
I draw from evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and other trauma-informed methods to help clients process painful experiences without becoming overwhelmed by them. The goal is not simply to revisit the past, but to reduce its emotional charge, restore a sense of control, and help you move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and inner calm.
How does acceptance and commitment (ACT) work and how can it help?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT, helps clients relate differently to difficult thoughts, emotions, and internal experiences. Instead of trying to eliminate every uncomfortable feeling, ACT teaches you how to make space for discomfort while still moving toward what matters most to you.
In therapy, ACT can help you become more aware of unhelpful thought patterns, reduce the power they have over your choices, and reconnect with your deeper values. This approach can be especially helpful for anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship stress, life transitions, and professional pressure. Over time, ACT supports greater psychological flexibility, helping you respond to life with more clarity, intention, and emotional freedom.
How do you work with clients with ADHD?
When working with clients with ADHD, I focus on understanding the full emotional and practical impact it has on daily life. ADHD can affect attention, organization, motivation, time management, emotional regulation, relationships, and self-esteem. Many high-functioning adults with ADHD have learned to compensate for years, often at the cost of exhaustion, anxiety, or burnout.
My work helps clients better understand their patterns, reduce shame, and develop realistic strategies that fit their lifestyle and personality. We may work on improving structure, strengthening emotional regulation, managing overwhelm, and addressing the frustration or self-criticism that often comes with ADHD. The goal is to help clients work with their brain more effectively, rather than constantly feeling they have to fight against it.
