About Amy
Hello all, my name is Amy Jenkins. I have had the pleasure to experience the "beauty from ashes" work for myself in therapy and my hope is to join others in their own beauty from ashes therapeutic work. My training at Moody Bible Institute has helped to build my faith and resources. I was blessed again when attending Abilene Christian University, to obtain a Masters's in Marriage and Family Therapy that has awarded me extensive knowledge in working with individuals and couples.
In my experience as a human, I have come to understand that life is hard. Day-to-day challenges arise and can bring unwelcomed stressful feelings. Relationships are a part of everything we do and our best intentions are sometimes met with complications or difficulty.

What's your experience with relationship counseling?
Romantic relationships can be beautiful and wonderful while being a challenge. Oftentimes, we think it shouldn't be this hard, but it is. Throughout the span of the relationship, we may need to go to therapy for a major overhaul or a minor adjustment to keep things in the relationship moving forward together.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist after a successful venture in therapy. The time and work spent in therapy was an undeniable life saver. I believe in the work that can be done in therapy and there for show up daily to offer that same compassion to clients coming to the office

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
I am not super formal, clinical language will be less textbook and more day-to-day speech. I enjoy laughter, it has been said to be the best medicine. I also know that at times life calls for tears, and those tears do need to be apologized for in a session. I hope that I come to other therapy session with genuine compassion and caring.

How can you provide care remotely?
We have a few options at our disposal. I use Simple Practice as my Electronic Health Records keeper, SP, also has a HIPPA-compliant video session system built in. If SP is down, we can use Google Business Meetings.
