For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
Many people feel unsure at first. Therapy isn’t about having something 'wrong' with you. It’s about having a space that’s just for you—to talk, reflect, and work through life’s challenges with support and without judgment. You don’t need to be in crisis to start. You just need to be open to the idea that things can get better. And they can. You deserve that chance."
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Our first session with be an evaluation. The second and third session we will establish short term and long term treatment goals. Our therapy sessions will be specific to your needs.
How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with clients who experience anxiety, it's important to create a safe, supportive environment and build trust by going at their pace. Calming techniques like deep breathing, grounding exercises, or mindfulness can help manage symptoms in the moment. Normalizing anxiety and explaining how it works in the brain can reduce shame and increase understanding. Exploring triggers and thought patterns allows for greater self-awareness, and cognitive techniques—like challenging negative thoughts—can help shift unhelpful thinking. Approaches should be tailored to the individual, and gradual exposure to fears may be helpful when appropriate. It's also essential to recognize when a client may need referral to a licensed mental health professional for further support.
How do you work with clients with depression?
When working with clients who have depression, it’s important to provide a safe, empathetic space where they feel seen and supported. Building trust and showing patience is key, as motivation and energy may be low. Helping clients identify small, manageable goals can foster a sense of progress. Exploring thoughts, behaviors, and emotional patterns using approaches to help shift negative thinking. Encouraging routine, self-care, and connection with others also supports recovery. It's important to validate their experience while gently challenging hopelessness.
How do you work with clients with stress?
Stress shows up differently for everyone—and that’s why we start by understanding you. We create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about what’s overwhelming you. Together, we identify what’s triggering your stress and explore tools that actually work for your lifestyle—whether that’s setting boundaries, improving self-care, or building healthier thought patterns. The goal isn’t just to manage stress, but to help you feel more grounded, in control, and resilient over time.
