About Brittney
It is my sincere belief that we are all just trying to do the best we can to make it through this thing called life, and life is hard. Sometimes life’s hardships result in trauma to you or your child, which can negatively impact emotions and behaviors. If your child is having difficulty managing their emotions or behavior, or if you are an adult who is experiencing emotional or behavioral dysregulation, I can help. I’m here to help guide the journey towards healing, whether it’s healing for yourself, your child, or your whole family.

About Me
Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
As a child, I wanted to be 3 things: a nurse, a teacher, or a counselor. It turns out that I don’t have the stomach for nursing and I worked for 8 years as a special education teacher, but I still felt I wasn’t really helping people.
My own family member’s struggle with mental health led me to develop a passion for helping people break the cycle of generational trauma and find healing within themselves. My current position allows me to do 2 of my favorite things — helping people heal and training good, quality therapists who can then go help even more people.
If I don’t have any openings, I do often have interns or colleagues with availability, so please do not hesitate to reach out.
About Me
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
One of the most powerful things I’ve ever done is to go to therapy. I was so afraid that my issues were too big or that if I started opening up, the floodgates would open and I’d fall apart. But, none of that happened! Going to therapy is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. (And it’s made me a better therapist.)
