Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I have seen people struggle with mental health in various healthcare settings, I decided to become a Mental Healthcare provider to help them cope with management of their symptoms and to restore function. My focus is to make mental health care affordable and accessible to all through advocacy. Ending the stigma and discrimination that surround mental health through early diagnosis and treatment. In short, focusing on the 4 A's of mental health: Accessibility, Affordability, Availability and Stigma free care for all. I have worked in multiple healthcare facilities over the last 14 years, one common theme I encounter is lack of empowerment, knowledge and delay in care when it comes to mental healthcare.
