Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I became a therapist because I have a deep-seated passion for helping people navigate their mental health journeys. Witnessing the transformative power of therapy in the lives of individuals is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that I can provide a safe and supportive space for someone to explore their emotions, challenges, and aspirations is truly fulfilling. What motivates me to continue is the knowledge that mental health is a crucial aspect of overall well-being. Seeing my clients make progress, gain insight, and ultimately lead more fulfilling lives is a constant source of inspiration. Additionally, the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live their best life keeps me committed to this profession. It's an honor to be a part of someone's healing process and to contribute to their path towards greater mental and emotional well-being.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

If you're unsure about starting therapy, let me assure you: Firstly, it's completely normal to feel a bit nervous about beginning therapy. Taking this step is a brave move, and it's absolutely fine to have some doubts. Remember, seeking help shows strength, not weakness. Therapy is a private, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself. It's a safe place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without worrying about being criticized. A therapist is there to support you, offering advice and tools to help you deal with life's challenges. Therapy isn't about being "broken" or having something fundamentally wrong with you. It's about personal growth, discovering more about yourself, and learning helpful ways to cope. It's an investment in your mental and emotional well-being. Keep in mind, you're not on this journey alone. Many people have found tremendous benefit from therapy, and there's a good chance you will too. Taking this step could lead to a more confident, fulfilled, and balanced life. Ultimately, the decision to start therapy is a very personal one. Trust yourself, and when you're ready, know that there are caring professionals ready to support you on your journey.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?

In our sessions, we create a safe space for you to share and explore your thoughts and feelings. We set goals, discuss strategies, and work collaboratively towards your well-being. It's a supportive and tailored process focused on your growth and progress.

How does mindfulness-based therapy (MBCT) work and how can it help?

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices are combined in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). It aids people in being more conscious of their thoughts and feelings, allowing them to better control and avoid relapsing into sadness and anxiety.

How do you work with clients with ADHD?

I employ a comprehensive approach for ADHD clients: assessment, skill-building, behavioral techniques, accommodations, medication consideration, and regular monitoring for lasting progress.

How can you provide care remotely?

I am able to offer care remotely using safe internet platforms. We may discuss your worries, establish objectives, and look into well-being solutions via video conferences. I can also provide you with tools, activities, and resources to help you in between sessions. All during the procedure, your anonymity and privacy are given top priority.
