How does cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) work and how can it help?

I feel CBT is a great approach for a lot of people. Our thoughts can be confused with our reality. If we deeply believed our thoughts and not allowing other perspectives to exist, then we can trap ourselves into certain scenario and feel the pain. It sounds philosophical eventually!

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

Growing up and seeing my mom taking care of her patients and our family, I know I would be doing something helping others. I always loved art and making art  since I was little. During my spare time, I also loved reading books or magazines about people’s emotions and relationships. After 10 years of working in finance and investment, I realized that money or class cannot guarantee happiness. I came across the globe to search for the answer.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

Do you want to feel free and authentic to who you are? Do you want to fully accepting yourself? Do you want to feel connected to people around you? Be in therapy and explore!
