Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a mental health provider to address mental health challenges that limit individuals physically and mentally, thereby decreasing their quality of life.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
As I listen, I will take the time to validate their concerns. I will provide assurance and trust, as well as opportunities to consider valid treatment options.
How can you provide care remotely?
Ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient's environmental safety.
How do you work with clients with sleep or insomnia issues?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, often referred to as CBT, can effectively treat long-term sleep issues like insomnia. Generally, it is the first recommended treatment based on evidence-based practices, educating the individual on both non-pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical interventions.
How do you work with clients with schizophrenia and psychotic disorders?
My emphasis will be on creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative relationship. This includes understanding individual experiences, using clear communication, and customizing treatment strategies to meet specific needs and preferences.
