How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with clients who experience anxiety, I focus on creating a calming, nonjudgmental space where they feel safe to share their concerns. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and manage anxious thoughts, alongside Mindfulness-Based techniques to cultivate relaxation and resilience, tailoring strategies to each person's unique needs and experiences.
Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist to help others find hope and healing amid life's most difficult challenges, inspired by a passion for mental health and personal growth. I’m motivated to continue by witnessing the resilience and progress of my clients as they work toward better mental well-being.
How do you work with clients with depression?
When working with clients experiencing depression, I prioritize creating a compassionate, judgment-free space where they feel understood and supported. I use approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help challenge negative thought patterns, along with Motivational Interviewing to foster hope and engagement, and we may integrate medication management if appropriate, ensuring a holistic approach to support their journey toward improved well-being.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
I’d want you to know that therapy isn’t about judgment or fixing you—it’s a supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that’s meaningful and empowering. Taking that first step can be intimidating, but it often opens doors to self-understanding, healing, and personal growth that can make a lasting difference.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
In working with me, you should know that I approach therapy with empathy, respect, and a commitment to understanding your unique experiences. I believe in collaboration and creating a safe space where you can feel heard, and I use a personalized, evidence-based approach to help you achieve your goals, whether through therapy, medication management, or a combination of both.
How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
When working with clients who have experienced trauma or PTSD, I focus on creating a safe, trusting environment where they can process their experiences at their own pace. I incorporate medication management when appropriate to help alleviate symptoms, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive approach to their recovery and to support healing and resilience.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy sessions with me are collaborative and client-centered, beginning with an open conversation where you can share what’s on your mind and what you hope to achieve. For clients who are prescribed medication, we’ll incorporate medication management into our work, ensuring that your treatment plan is well-rounded and supports both therapeutic and medical needs for optimal mental health.
How do you work with clients with ADHD?
When working with clients who have ADHD, I create a structured and supportive environment tailored to their unique strengths and challenges. I incorporate behavioral strategies and organizational skills training to help improve focus and manage daily tasks, while also providing medication management when indicated to support symptom management, ensuring a holistic approach to their well-being and success.
How can you provide care remotely?
I provide remote care through secure telehealth platforms that allow for virtual therapy sessions, where we can connect face-to-face from the comfort of your home. Whether through video or phone, I offer the same personalized, client-centered approach as in-person sessions, ensuring that you receive effective support while maintaining privacy and convenience.
How do you work with clients with sleep or insomnia issues?
When working with clients experiencing sleep or insomnia issues, I take a holistic approach by exploring the underlying factors contributing to sleep disturbances, such as anxiety, stress, or behavioral patterns. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to help reframe negative thoughts about sleep, establish healthy sleep routines, and develop relaxation techniques, while also considering medication management if needed to support better sleep and overall well-being.
