I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and founder of Willow & Sage Counseling with over 30 years of experience helping adults navigate trauma, grief, anxiety, shame, mood disorders, and major life transitions. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, including religious trauma, first-generation experiences, and grief and loss, using approaches such as Narrative Therapy and Brainspotting to help clients understand the deeper stories shaping their lives.
What makes my work unique is my ability to combine deep emotional insight with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach that honors both the nervous system and personal meaning-making. I help clients move beyond survival mode by exploring patterns rooted in trauma, culture, family systems, and identity while building healthier narratives, emotional regulation, and sustainable change.

How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
My approach to trauma and PTSD is trauma-informed, compassionate, and paced according to each client's needs. I recognize that trauma impacts both the mind and the nervous system, so treatment focuses on creating safety, building emotional regulation skills, and helping clients understand how past experiences continue to influence present thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors. Using approaches such as Narrative Therapy and Brainspotting, I help clients process difficult experiences, challenge shame-based beliefs, and develop healthier, more empowering narratives about themselves. Throughout the process, I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where healing can occur at a pace that feels manageable and sustainable.
How does solution focused brief therapy (SFBT) work and how can it help?
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented approach that focuses on your strengths, resources, and what is already working in your life rather than spending all of our time examining problems. In our work together, we identify your hopes for the future, explore exceptions to current challenges, and build on the skills and resilience you already possess. SFBT can be especially helpful for individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, grief, relationship concerns, and feelings of being stuck, as it promotes practical change, increased confidence, and a clearer path forward while honoring your unique experiences and values.
