Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to helping others, especially when it comes to mental and emotional well-being. I saw firsthand how mental health challenges can affect every part of a person’s life, and I wanted to be someone who could offer support, guidance, and hope in those difficult times. The ability to make a meaningful difference in someone’s journey—whether by helping them feel heard, providing tools to manage their struggles, or simply offering a safe space to be themselves—was what inspired me to pursue this path.
What motivates me to continue is seeing the positive changes in my clients’ lives. Watching someone go from feeling overwhelmed or lost to gaining clarity, confidence, and strength keeps me passionate about what I do. Every person’s story is unique, and being a part of their healing journey is both a privilege and a deep source of fulfillment. The resilience and courage I witness in my clients push me to continue learning and growing as a therapist, so I can offer the best care possible.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For anyone hesitant to try therapy, I want to reassure you that therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space designed to support you in whatever you're going through. It’s completely natural to feel unsure or anxious about starting, but therapy is simply about giving yourself the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings with someone who’s here to listen, guide, and help.
You don't have to have everything figured out or even know exactly what you're struggling with—that's part of what we work on together. Therapy isn’t about judgment; it’s about growth, healing, and learning new ways to manage challenges. It’s okay to start small, and you’re never alone in the process. Taking that first step is an act of courage, and it can open doors to feeling more empowered, understood, and in control of your life.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
In therapy sessions with me, the focus is always on creating a supportive and non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable expressing your thoughts and feelings. During our first session, we’ll start with an in-depth assessment to understand your specific needs, challenges, and goals. From there, we’ll collaborate on a personalized treatment plan.
I often use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused techniques. Our sessions may include talking through your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, identifying patterns that may be contributing to your challenges, and working together to develop strategies for managing stress, anxiety, or other mental health conditions. Depending on your needs, sessions can also include activities like mindfulness exercises, relaxation techniques, or skill-building exercises to help you cope with difficult emotions.
Whether we meet in person, online, or in your home, the goal is always the same: to ensure that you feel heard, supported, and empowered to take steps toward healing and wellness. I also offer ongoing support between sessions, so you always have access to care when you need it.
