About Deborah
As a pre-licensed intern, my goal is to empower you to make positive changes. I work under the supervision of Dr. Angela Waggoner as I complete full licensing requirements in Texas. I earned a Master’s degree from Liberty University in 2008, and I earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southampton. I am currently in a degree program to update coursework and meet licensing requirements. I am certified in mindfulness-based stress reduction and am a certified clinical trauma professional. I have a great deal of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in crisis. I utilize trauma-informed care as I teach mindfulness techniques for emotional regulation to help manage anxiety, depression, anger, and other difficulties.
I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and I use this in my work.

How can you provide care remotely?
I love this question! I have offered services in the community, in the office, and remotely. I really didn't think I would like providing services remotely, but I have learned that it is a very intimate process. I feel such a connection to clients in video sessions. Remote sessions also offer a bit of a buffer for clients. Although we're looking at one another, there is a little bit of distance, which provides clients with the opportunity to relax and open up a little.
