About Destiny
Therapist, coach, wife, mom - but most of all, human. As someone with personal experience living with chronic pain and illness, I know what it’s like to feel like you’re trying everything, doing everything right, and seemingly getting nowhere.
If you’ve ever been told “your labs are completely normal” or “there’s nothing wrong with you” but you’re in constant pain and discomfort, you’ve come to the right place.
My main work is with those who experience hard-to-diagnose health issues and syndromes. Things like gastro-intestinal problems, arthritic pain, back pain and other bodily aches, and genetic disorders are all within my wheelhouse. We work on things like managing stress, building healthier relationships (with romantic partners, friends, and healthcare professionals), and healing childhood emotional wounds.
How I show up with clients stems not only from my lived experience but also from my decade of training with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am also trained in Year 1 of Somatic Experiencing, which means that I believe trauma lives in the body - not in your thoughts.
There is a strong connection between chronic illness / chronic pain and the following emotional struggles:
-Perfectionism
-Procrastination / lack of motivation
-Childhood emotional neglect
-Finding it hard to relate to others
-Feeling alone/isolated, even within your romantic relationship
-Lack of meaning/purpose in life
Out-of-Network Cost
$135 - 200 per session
