About Diana
My goal is to establish a collaborative relationship with the client directed toward wholeness and their personal growth and transformation. I strive to move away from the stigma and labeling that traditional abnormal psychology offers and focus on my client's strengths and mutually developed goals to help them reach their highest potential. Body-mind-spirit integration is my personal life foundation, and it is the core of my therapeutic approach. I provide individual and couples therapy for the issues of depression, anxiety, self-esteem, communication issues, relationship difficulties, life transitions, coping with stress, chronic illness, cancer, bereavement counseling, caregiver support, maternal mental health, and many more. I integrate my unique specialty as a Certified MARI (Mandala Assessment Research Instrument) Practitioner, one of the very few fully certified in the US, to offer a comprehensive psychological assessment and turn this modality into a life-changing experience. I’m an eclectic therapist, combining different approaches that are geared toward individual goals of each client and ultimately lead to their own path of healing and overall wellness.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
Even as a child, I was highly attuned to people’s emotions and liked to learn what motivated and inspired individuals. During my college years, I served as a student counselor to incoming freshmen, which solidified my decision to continue my psychology studies. My graduate school internship provided an opportunity to work in a healthcare setting, which became my professional niche. I have extensive experience providing mental health care in a hospital setting with concentrations on coping with chronic illness, oncology, palliative care, and caregiver and bereavement support. I opened my private practice in 2010 and have worked with clients dealing with various mental health issues and health challenges as well as those seeking personal growth and wellness. In the past, I’ve also been a part of a group psychotherapy practice, provided pro bono services to a local hospice program, and served as a consultant to a national magazine publication.
How can you provide care remotely?
Many clients may be hesitant to engage in remote sessions, I, however, see it as an asset in therapy provision. Therapists can reach clients outside of their immediate geographic area and offer their expertise to communities that may not have great mental health services availability. Clients may feel that it’s easier to find time for sessions when they don’t have to travel for weekly appointments and can sign in remotely from the location of their choice. In addition, clients who have certain physical limitations can now be connected to a therapist and receive necessary support. Remote therapy sessions are as affective as in-person appointments, and most therapeutic interventions can still be used to have a productive therapy experience.
