About Dominique G
I’m a Latino Power cisgender Woman.
If you ask the teenage, rebel, almost emo version of myself if I was going to become a Clinical Psychologist and a Licensed Professional Counselor as my career for sure you would get a long, very argumentative, and rotund NO as an answer. But look at me now. Life-changing experiences open the entrance to the world of healing for me, and I'm very grateful.
My purpose is for you to see me as your companion through this journey of self-discovery. I'm gonna help you remember those inner skills, your true capacity, and inspire you to go to the seed of who you are and transform to regrow yourself from there.

Couples Therapy
How does couples therapy work, and what do sessions look like?
It is a safe space in which couples can strengthen or rebuild their foundations.
We will meet for 90 minutes and talk about the topics that both of you consider needed. In addition, during this time you will learn skills and techniques that will be applicable in your daily interactions to support your process.
At the end of each session, you will have a fertilizer (homework) so that you keep practicing what you have learned during the session. It is recommended to meet at least once per week.
About Me
What inspired you to become a therapist, and what keeps you motivated?
The capacity that we, as humans, have to create our own reality.
About Me
For people hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them, and what advice would you give?
Taking the first step is always challenging, but giving yourself the chance to be happy is one of the biggest gains you can get.
So, you may have nothing to lose.
My advice would be that proactiveness is the best way to reach the highest expression of yourself. And taking action is an example of that.
Approaches · Gottman Method
How does the Gottman method work, and what do sessions look like?
This is one of the most direct and proven to be successful approaches - when both members of the couple are fully involved-.
It explores the pillars, foundations, and goals of the couple, and perceives it as the sum of two individuals, meaning that it thrives on interdependence and addresses dependent or interdependent behaviors. Because of that, couples have the option to choose between having 2 other therapists involved in the treatment (to solve personal issues that impact the relationship) or to have individual sessions with me to talk about those topics and then share the insights together with the partner.
About Me
How do you provide care remotely, and what makes it effective?
I am as authentic as I can be, and besides having a therapist who will accompany you through your process, you will also have a human who will be there for you, holding a safe space for you to grow and flourish.
Specialties · Parenting
What's your approach to working with parents, and what does progress look like for clients?
My approach to this topic is based on two points. First, the parents stabilize them emotionally, physically, and psychologically (preferably both parents, but not mandatory). And, as a second point, I work on Respectful Parenting, which means recognizing, addressing, and changing learned patterns from our experience as children, and understanding that our children are our best teachers.
As a result, you will heal yourself and treat your children with love, care, respect, and the individuality that they deserve.
Specialties · Spiritual or Religious
What's your approach to spiritual or religious concerns, and what does progress look like for clients?
Spirituality, for me, is perceiving existence in union with the supreme force of creation by connecting with our 'supernatural' capacities and trusting that life knows better than we do.
While working with this approach, we will go in depth into the understanding of our existence beyond what we can see or feel with our conditioned senses, and we will explore different perspectives of humanity as a whole.
(My approach is non-religious)
Specialties · Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum
What's your approach to pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum challenges, and what does progress look like for clients?
Pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum are stages full of changes in all aspects: emotional, physical, psychological, and relational. Depending on the client's goals, the progress can look like:
- Conceiving
- Increase self-esteem
- Increase self-worth
- Increase self- value
- Healing childhood wounds.
- Choosing a parenting style.
- Increase Self-care
- Create a strategy to prevent postpartum depression.
- Increase self-trust.
... and much more.
This is one of the most personalized topics and is evolving as well, based on the stage and client's current conditions.
Approaches · Expressive Arts
How does expressive arts therapy work, and what do sessions look like?
Arts are one of the main sources of creation, connection, and inspiration. The process is very individualized, depending on the client's way of creating. A session will promote imagination, symbolism, and self-expression in a safe and judgment-free space.
Approaches · Jungian
How does Jungian therapy work, and what do sessions look like?
Jung's amazing theory shows us there is more beyond what we have been conditioned to see and that we are all connected to the collective unconscious.
If you decide that you want to go in dept into your own personal journey, understand why and how you express your personality the way you do and shining some light into those areas of your history that have been in the Pandora's box for -maybe- too long, then we will working with archetypes, guided meditations, and psychographs (drawing form the unconsciousness)
Approaches · Eclectic
How does eclectic therapy work, and what do sessions look like?
Eclectic literally means: 'composed of elements drawn from a variety of sources'. When we talk about an eclectic therapeutic approach, this means that we will be using and applying techniques, skills and knowledge from a variety of psychological branches.
My sessions are based on the issue/topic that my client brings to the table that day and the goals that we set up at the beginning; sometimes we work with CBT, other times with EFT, we apply ACT exercises, spirituality, art if needed... It is like going to a grocery store and picking the ingredients that you need for what you want to prepare, having all the at your reach.
Approaches · Multicultural
How does multicultural therapy work, and what do sessions look like?
When I talk about multicultural therapy, I am not referring only to working with clients from a culture different from mine or from the one they currently live in. I also refer to an understanding that each of us is a world, that we are all unique, and that already creates a specific culture when we interact with others.
This also applies to couples and families from more than one culture and/or living in a culture different from the one they were born into.
