For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

If you’ve never been to therapy, relax! The process is conversational in nature, and I’ll do my best to put you at ease. The first visit (intake appointment) will be focused on reviewing some of the technicalities of therapy (e.g., reviewing paperwork you will have received ahead of time and any questions you might have), discussing your main concerns, and reviewing highlights of your life story (don’t worry; you’ll have a heads up from the preliminary paperwork—no surprises). From there we will discuss initial goals and decide together how often we might meet (most common option is weekly to start). Throughout the process I welcome your feedback about what is / isn’t beneficial to you so we can adjust accordingly. You can expect suggestions for readings or activities (e.g., initiating an exercise program, journaling, or committing to a self-care activity of your choice) in-between sessions so that you can progress most efficiently and effectively. Suggestions are custom tailored to your needs, goals, and preferences.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

Just know I have been through plenty of life changes and am human just like you. Not every day is a home run, frustrations come up, life brings difficulties and disappointments, some relationships are tough, and whoa have I made some poor choices leading me to work through “stuff,” but this is exactly why I love this field. I fell for psychology three days into taking “Intro to Psych” my senior year of high school. I thought psychology had all the answers to life and provided a guidebook to living. Psychology helped me gain a whole new perspective on life that I wouldn’t trade for anything—I hope it’ll do the same for you.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?

If you’re ready to do the internal work to stop fighting against yourself, gain insights, and grow, then reach out today. Learn how to manage stress and worry, deliberately choose thoughts that are balanced, and prioritize actions in a way that leads you towards purpose, contentment, and joy. I offer a process where helpful, comprehensive connections are offered by identifying life patterns, thoughts, and behaviors that have you stuck. I provide expert, custom-tailored care in a thorough, compassionate, honest way that takes you further into your story. Together we'll break through layers of resistance that have kept you from your most actualized life. As a professional woman and military spouse, I understand the challenges stressors and changes. Now is the time for healing through quality support. We’ll work together to: 1) Give you a (cyber)space to tell your story 2) Discuss your hopes and goals 3) Find ways to clear your path for change 4) Identify specific steps you can take to move towards goal achievement 5) Celebrate and maintain changes! I take my work seriously and am as likely to reference research literature and science as much as I am pop culture. I see my role as your advocate—I’ll cheer you on while encouraging you to look out for your best interests and avoid being taken advantage of. The first step in creating change is focusing on you. I believe psychology provides a guidebook in navigating life and offers relief. Reach out today for a free 15 min consultation, and we'll see if we're a good fit. I look forward to talking with you. eTherapy is available to those in Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

How can you provide care remotely?

My practice is 100% on-line. This offers great convenience for my clients. I know how frustrating it can be to have to drive across town in traffic to get to an appointment; a one hour appointment can easily turn into a 3 hour time block. Telehealth is convenient, confidential, and flexible. I offer eTherapy to Colorado, Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

What's your experience with clients with women's issues?

My practice focus is working with high achieving professional women who are stressed from juggling too much or working through major life transitions like divorce, relocation, career changes, caregiving, or grief/loss. Oftentimes professional women are strong, driven, and highly successful at work and may apply this pressured-nature to their personal life, which may or may not be of benefit. My goal is to support women who may seem to have it all from the outside but privately may be struggling, especially when faced with situations stressors like life transitions. With over 16 years of practice, I bring solid training and the clinical experience to support women in reducing anxiety and increasing clarity. I love to see the growth and change over time and root for their continued success.
