How does cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) work and how can it help?
I like to understand an individual by looking at the impact that social connections have on their mental health. Why does one perceive dating in a negative way? Is it due to abandonment issues as a child? Why does one utilize alcohol to numb pain? Is it because they grew up watching a parent cope this way? With this knowledge, I will be able to identify patterns of thinking that derived from social interactions, to assist the client understand their true self outside of learned behavior. I will also gain insight on how those perceptions lead to thoughts and behaviors.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
All potential clients are granted a free 15 minute consultation! You deserve to get the feel of your therapist to see if there is a connection. Then we will have an intake session to get an overview of your presenting challenges, and then schedule follow ups to head towards healing. I am your advocate, listener, supporter, encourager, and challenger. We will work together as a team! You are the author of your book and I am your editor. I am not here to change your story, but I am here to review your story before publishing!
