Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because I have always been passionate about helping others find healing, balance, and empowerment in their lives. Early in my career, I saw the profound impact that mental health care can have on people’s well-being, and it inspired me to dedicate my life to making a difference in this field. I believe that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling and meaningful life, and I wanted to be part of their journey toward achieving that.
What motivates me to continue is seeing the transformation in my patients. Witnessing their growth, resilience, and breakthroughs as they navigate through their challenges brings me immense fulfillment. Each person’s story is unique, and being able to walk alongside them as they rediscover their strengths and embrace their potential keeps me inspired every day. The opportunity to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care and make a positive impact in people’s lives is truly what drives me to continue this important work.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For those hesitant to try therapy, I’d like to emphasize that seeking help is a brave and important step toward improving your mental health and overall well-being. It's completely normal to feel apprehensive or unsure about what therapy entails. Many people share similar feelings before their first session.
I want you to know that therapy is a safe space where you can express your thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. It’s an opportunity to explore your challenges and gain valuable insights into yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting; that’s part of the journey we’ll undertake together.
Therapy is not just for those in crisis; it can be a valuable resource for anyone looking to enhance their understanding of themselves, navigate life's challenges, or simply find a supportive space to talk. You deserve to invest in your mental health, and I’m here to guide you through the process, helping you take it one step at a time. Remember, you’re not alone in this; many have walked this path before you and found healing and growth.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy sessions with me are centered around you—your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment where you feel heard and supported. During our sessions, we’ll explore the challenges you're facing, how they affect your daily life, and work together to develop strategies for improvement.
I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques, depending on what suits your needs best. We’ll talk about patterns in your thoughts and behaviors, focusing on what’s holding you back and what can help you move forward. My goal is to empower you with tools and insights so you can better manage life's challenges and unlock your full potential. Our time together is collaborative, where I provide guidance, but the pace and direction are set by you.
