About Elisa

Are you looking for a trauma or couples therapist? Are struggling with inner child wounds and family of origin woes? Does it impact your romantic relationships, work, and how you show up in the world? Is being a cycle-breaker exhausting and do you need support? As a first gen myself in a biracial marriage, I know not only from my studies but lived experience just how important addressing cultural issues can be in order to make lasting change in our lives. I know how difficult exploring culture and how hard it is to find balance, not wanting to say something is bad or wrong but instead just figuring out how to live a life more inline with our values so that we can live more authentically. I help people with this all over California in online therapy.

What's your experience with relationship counseling?

Are you struggling in your relationship and are you tired of the constant fights? I work with couples on a deeper level to help them finally understand one another in a way they never have before. Maybe you have lost that spark or hurt has happened and you need to regain that trust. I can help you using a blend of EFT and Gottman to help you get back your relationship.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I feel like this question is a loaded one! Ha! My interest in psychology started back in my Psych 101 class, where I was struggling with how can people be so complex yet so simple at the same time. And why does it seem like we make it harder on ourselves to live happy lives connected with those that we love? Years later and I find my self still baffled by the human condition and I am in constant awe of the way people over come things and create deep bonds with one another.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

Going to therapy, even if it isn't your first time around, can bring anxiety. I still remember my first time in therapy, my thoughts racing, and feeling like I was going to do it wrong. That is normal and I want you to know my goal is to make sure you feel comfortable with me before we even go to some of those places that are painful to talk about. I encourage you to check out my website, to get a feel for what I sound like by watching my intro video, and reading my blogs. Also, we can spend 10-15 minutes over the phone for a FREE consultation to ensure we are the right fit and where I am happy to answer any questions you might have.

What's your experience with dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)?

Are you finding it hard to manage your mood, your boundaries, you day to day life? DBT therapy might be what you need. Mindfulness is at the root of the therapy that I do with my clients and that is why I chose to get certified in DBT. Originally created for BPD, I find that DBT helps with so many struggles. I have years of experience working with people who want to learn how to better regulate their feelings, improve their relationships, so that they can live a life that they deserve. DBT has a way of providing the peace that so many people need in their lives.
