Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
After my own experiences receiving compassionate support, I became passionate about supporting people through the more difficult times of life. I hold a lot of gratitude to offer a space that feels safe and open to those I work with and walk with them through their empowerment. It is a gift to see what the power of clarity and positive mental health experiences can give folks in living a fulfilling life they genuinely love!
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
I get it! Vulnerability is scary as hell and therapy can often feel intimidating. I know that the therapist you trust for help is an important choice. As your therapist, I offer you a warm, empowering environment where you can begin to thrive again. Yes, growth can take hard work, but you won’t be alone. I’m committed to work with you to create a plan for meaningful, lasting change so that you can cherish your life through all of its seasons. A little support can be invaluable as your find your way forward.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
I appreciate casual yet informed therapy where humor absolutely has a place; we're going to do some hard work in a way that feels good. I also deeply value the relationship between a person and their therapist and prioritize nurturing this connection to achieve effective therapy. My goal is to foster a space where all parts of you feel truly understood and aligned. I utilize holistic, insight-driven methods to tailor my approach in ways that best serve you and walk us towards your goals. So, I take my time to listen and learn about YOU – your circumstances, inclinations, past experiences, and desires. My role is to listen, offer perspective, and provide gentle and supportive challenge and guidance to promote your journey. Together, we’ll discover who you truly are, meet the goals you have, and make life most meaningful for you. And we always honor the pace and approach that feels best to you; you are the expert of your life after all!
What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
Therapy with me integrates talking, exercises, and – brace yourself – sometimes homework to practice what we’re working on. We will discuss recent or current events, potentially catch up and review homework, and make connections to ongoing or past happenings to achieve deep, comprehensive work. We'll often leave our session with a game plan for the following too. Together, we will cultivate healthy habits, gain tools to navigate life's changes, identify unhelpful patterns, & discover or reconnect with your truest self.
How can you provide care remotely?
Our sessions will occur virtually on an easy-to-use, secure video conferencing platform. The beauty of virtual therapy is that it allows us to be more flexible in our scheduling as we don’t have to worry about commutes, traffic and parking nightmares, or interference of other life obligations requiring our time. It's all the support you need, conveniently online in the comfort of your own space.
