What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
I am dual certified in both psychiatric and family medicine, providing telehealth services in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I focus on treating conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder through personalized, compassionate care. I take a holistic, evidence-based approach, but I do not prescribe controlled medications or treat severe mental illness, developmental disorders, or substance use disorders. My goal is to help clients achieve realistic, attainable mental health goals with professional and empathetic support.
How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with clients who have anxiety, I start with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to understand the severity and specific triggers of their anxiety. I then create a personalized treatment plan, which may include medication management and techniques like motivational interviewing to help clients manage anxiety symptoms and address underlying concerns. My approach is holistic, taking into account not just mental health but also lifestyle, physical well-being, and stress management. I focus on setting realistic goals with clients, helping them build coping strategies, reduce stress, and gradually improve their ability to handle anxiety in daily life.
How do you work with clients with depression?
I work with clients with depression by offering a personalized and compassionate approach, starting with a psychiatric evaluation to understand their unique needs. Using evidence-based interventions, I create a tailored treatment plan that may include medication management and motivational interviewing to help clients explore their goals and find motivation for change. I also consider holistic factors such as lifestyle, nutrition, and overall physical health to support their mental well-being. Throughout the process, I collaborate with clients to set realistic, attainable goals and provide ongoing support to help them manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
How can you provide care remotely?
I provide care remotely through telehealth services, which allows me to reach patients in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts. This means you can receive psychiatric evaluations and medication management from the comfort of your home, using secure video or phone consultations. Telehealth makes my services more accessible, especially for those with busy schedules or limited access to in-person care.
How does motivational interviewing work and how can it help?
Motivational interviewing is a client-centered approach that enhances motivation for change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. It involves collaboration between the client and practitioner, evoking the client's own motivations rather than providing direct advice, and respecting the client's autonomy in decision-making.
This method can help clients increase self-awareness, enhance their motivation to change, improve coping skills, and reduce resistance to change. Ultimately, it supports clients in identifying their goals and readiness for positive change in their mental health journey.
