Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

My nephew, Jeremiah Rock, passed away in 2017 at age 10. Before his passing, he was going through severe depression. I have never saw anyone in so much pain before, and I wasn't there to help him in his time of need. After his passing, I wanted to make sure that no one experiences that type of pain, no matter the age, race, gender, orientation, or background.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I allow you to be you. You do not have to pretend or be someone that you are not. I see that you may be hesitant and reluctant to speak with me, and that is okay. I want you to know that you have a safe, confidential space where there is no judgement, no embarrassment, no loneliness in the process. You will receive the very best support for you and only you will know what will be best for you. I want to help you, with your guidance, to be the best you for a life that desperately needs you.

How do you work with clients with grief?

Grief is diverse and complicated. I approach these individuals as if I am with them through the entire process. I provide empathy, positive regard, and patience in understanding that the process requires time and connection with one's self for healing to begin. I approach with the purpose to validate their pain and help transform that pain into purpose to life moving forward.

What's your experience with clients with ADHD?

My experience has been working with these individuals and being patient and present with them. It's important to know that as the clinician, I do not want them to feel as if they are the burden or the reason for difficulty in their lives. I help these individuals create structure, motivation, and an environment that cares and supports them as a human being.
