About Erin

Welcome! I'm Erin L. Palmer, a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner with dual board certifications in Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health. With a heart for healing and a commitment to lifelong learning, I thrive in diverse healthcare settings and embrace the challenges that come with them. My journey in healthcare began with a solid foundation from Hampton University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I further honed my expertise at Catholic University of America, achieving my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. To deepen my understanding of mental health, I pursued and completed a Post-Masters Certification in Psychiatry and Mental Health at Liberty University. In my current roles, I serve the community by providing thorough assessments, accurate diagnoses, and thoughtful medication management both in-person and through telehealth. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, ensuring that every treatment plan is tailored to the individual needs of my patients. I've had the privilege of working in various settings including outpatient psychiatric care, family health clinics, wellness centers, pediatric practices, and even emergency medicine at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. This experience has equipped me to care for patients across all stages of life with an array of health concerns. I hold active licenses as an FNP-BC and PMHNP-BC in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Additionally, my commitment to providing exceptional patient care is reflected in my certifications in Trauma therapy, CBT, and DBT. My goal is simple: to provide you with personalized care that promotes your physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Thank you for considering me as your partner on your journey to mental health and well being.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

Prospective patients should know that I'm a compassionate Nurse Practitioner with dual board certifications in Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health. My extensive education includes a B.S. in Nursing from Hampton University, an M.S. in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Catholic University of America, and a Post-Masters Certification in Psychiatry and Mental Health from Liberty University. I prioritize evidence-based practice and offer personalized treatment plans tailored to individual needs. With experience across various healthcare settings, including outpatient psychiatric care, family health clinics, pediatric practices, and emergency medicine, I'm adept at addressing diverse health concerns across all life stages. Active licensure in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, along with certifications in Trauma therapy, CBT, and DBT, underpin my commitment to providing comprehensive care. My goal is to promote holistic well-being by addressing physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional aspects, ensuring patients feel supported on their journey to better health.

How can you provide care remotely?

I can provide remote care through telehealth services. This involves using secure video conferencing platforms to conduct virtual appointments with patients. During these appointments, I can perform assessments, discuss symptoms, provide counseling, offer medication management, and develop treatment plans, just as I would during an in-person visit. Telehealth allows for convenient access to care for patients who may not be able to visit a physical office due to distance, mobility issues, or other constraints. It also enables continuity of care and ongoing support, particularly in situations where regular follow-up appointments are necessary. Through telehealth, I can still offer personalized care that promotes the well-being of my patients, even when we're not in the same physical location.
