About Fatmata

"Hello! I'm Fatmata Juldeh Koroma, a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Raleigh, NC. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Carolina Central University, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in mental health care. Currently, I have the privilege of working at Senior Health and Education Partners, as well as Raleigh Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital. In these roles, I focus on providing personalized psychiatric care, conducting thorough evaluations, and managing medications to help individuals regain their mental wellness. My background spans various settings, including emergency rooms and inpatient psychiatric units, where I’ve gained extensive experience diagnosing and treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD, and ADHD. I believe in a holistic and evidence-based approach to care, collaborating with counselors, social workers, and family members to ensure my patients receive comprehensive treatment. My philosophy centers on the belief that mental health is a key component of overall well-being, and I am committed to helping individuals achieve a balanced and fulfilling life. My treatment approach is rooted in coaching, culturally sensitive care, emotionally focused therapy, humanistic principles, and trauma-focused strategies. I strive to create an empathetic and supportive environment where patients feel heard and understood. If you're looking for a provider who will walk alongside you on your mental health journey, I am here to support you every step of the way!"

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I became a therapist because I’m passionate about mental health and helping people heal. What motivates me to continue is seeing the positive impact therapy can have on someone’s life and knowing I’m part of their journey toward better health.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

It’s completely normal to feel unsure about starting therapy. But it can be a powerful step toward feeling better and improving your quality of life. Therapy is a safe space to talk through your challenges, and you don’t have to face them alone.

How can you provide care remotely?

I offer virtual therapy sessions, which makes it convenient for patients to receive care from the comfort of their homes. I provide comprehensive assessments, medication management, and therapy through secure online platforms. This allows me to stay connected with my patients and provide the same quality of care as in-person visits.
