Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because I believe in the power of human connection and the incredible resilience within each person. From a young age, I was drawn to understanding people’s stories—what shaped them, what hurt them, and what helped them heal. That deep curiosity and compassion led me to this path, where I could be a steady presence for those navigating pain, uncertainty, or change. What motivates me to continue is witnessing the strength and courage of my clients every day. Seeing someone rediscover their voice, reclaim their life after trauma, or find peace in the midst of struggle is a privilege I never take for granted. Each person’s journey inspires me to keep showing up, to keep learning, and to keep offering hope. My work is more than a profession—it’s a calling rooted in empathy, growth, and the belief that healing is always possible.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
If you're feeling unsure about starting therapy, I want you to know—you're not alone, and it's okay to feel that way. Taking that first step can feel intimidating, especially when you're not sure what to expect or if you'll be understood. But therapy isn’t about having everything figured out; it’s about giving yourself the space to be seen, heard, and supported—just as you are. You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support. Therapy can be a safe place to unpack life’s challenges, gain clarity, and discover strengths you may not even realize you have. It’s not about being “fixed,” but about finding healing, growth, and connection at your own pace. If you're hesitant, I encourage you to give yourself permission to try—just once. One conversation can open the door to a journey that’s entirely yours. You are worthy of care, and it’s brave to reach for it.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
If you're considering working with me, here’s what I want you to know: I genuinely care. This isn’t just a profession for me—it’s a passion rooted in compassion, connection, and a deep respect for your story. I show up as a real person in the room with you—present, patient, and committed to walking alongside you through both the heavy and the hopeful moments. I believe healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, so I take the time to truly understand who you are and what you need. Whether we’re working through trauma, navigating addiction recovery, or just trying to manage day-to-day stress, I bring a trauma-informed, strength-based approach that honors your pace and empowers your progress. You’ll find that I lead with empathy, but I’m not afraid to gently challenge you when growth calls for it. I value honesty, consistency, and collaboration, and I hold space for your healing without judgment. You don’t have to have it all together to start—just a willingness to show up. I’ll meet you there.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy with me is a collaborative, supportive, and non-judgmental space where your voice matters. From our very first session, I work to create an atmosphere that feels safe and grounded—where you can show up exactly as you are, without pressure or pretense. We’ll begin by getting to know each other and identifying what brings you in—your goals, challenges, and hopes. I take a holistic, personalized approach, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs. Some days, we might dig into deeper emotions or past experiences. Other times, we may focus on building practical coping skills, processing current stressors, or celebrating small wins. I incorporate evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing, depending on what best supports your healing and growth. If you're working through trauma, addiction, or co-occurring disorders, our sessions will reflect that—compassionate, paced, and trauma-informed. Above all, therapy with me is a partnership. You lead the way, and I walk alongside you, offering guidance, tools, and a steady presence. Whether you’re in a season of crisis or simply seeking growth, our work together is about helping you feel seen, supported, and empowered.
How do you work with clients with depression?
When working with clients living with depression, I approach each person with empathy, patience, and a deep respect for where they are in their journey. Depression can feel heavy and isolating, and I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported—without judgment or pressure. In our sessions, we explore the root causes of your depression, whether it's related to life changes, trauma, loss, or long-standing emotional patterns. I use evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify unhelpful thought patterns and build healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and coping. We take things one step at a time. Some days might focus on understanding and naming the emotions you’re experiencing, while others might be about building small, meaningful routines, reconnecting with your strengths, and developing tools to manage symptoms like fatigue, hopelessness, or low motivation. If you’re open to it, we may also explore mindfulness techniques, behavioral activation, or trauma-informed approaches depending on your needs. And if you’re facing co-occurring issues like substance use or anxiety, we’ll address those too—holistically and with care. My role is to walk alongside you, offering consistent support as we work toward healing, stability, and a renewed sense of purpose. You're not alone in this—and healing is absolutely possible.
How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with clients who are navigating anxiety, I focus on creating a calm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you feel safe to explore what’s beneath the surface. Anxiety can show up in so many ways—racing thoughts, constant worry, physical tension, panic attacks—and I tailor our work to meet your unique experience. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and challenge anxious thought patterns, while building healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. We also explore mindfulness techniques, grounding exercises, and breathing strategies that can bring immediate relief and help regulate your nervous system. Together, we work on identifying triggers, increasing your tolerance for discomfort, and building coping skills that are practical and empowering. If anxiety is connected to past trauma or deeper emotional wounds, I bring in trauma-informed care and tools like EMDR or motivational interviewing to support deeper healing. Throughout our work, I emphasize progress over perfection, helping you develop a sense of control, self-trust, and calm—even in life’s most overwhelming moments. My goal is to walk beside you as you learn to manage anxiety with confidence and compassion for yourself.
How can you provide care remotely?
Providing care remotely allows me to meet you wherever you are—literally and emotionally. Through secure, confidential telehealth sessions, I offer the same level of presence, support, and therapeutic care that you’d receive in person. Whether you're at home, in your car during a break, or traveling, therapy comes to you in a way that fits your life. Our virtual sessions are HIPAA-compliant, ensuring your privacy and safety. All you need is a quiet space, a stable internet connection, and a device with video and audio. From there, we create a supportive, real-time connection where we can explore what’s going on, build coping tools, and work toward your goals. Remote therapy also helps reduce barriers like transportation, time constraints, or even anxiety about being in an unfamiliar setting. It’s flexible, accessible, and just as impactful. Whether you’re dealing with stress, trauma, substance use, or life transitions, I’m here to support you—no matter the distance.
