About Heather
As a licensed therapist, I bring over two decades of compassionate clinical experience supporting individuals through life's most challenging transitions. My practice centers on helping clients navigate complex emotional landscapes, with specialized expertise in depression, anxiety, grief, and mood disorders. I offer a deeply empathetic approach to addressing personal challenges such as social anxiety, isolation, workplace stress, and life transitions. My therapeutic work focuses on empowering individuals to cultivate self-love, develop resilient coping strategies, and heal from traumatic experiences. My professional background includes extensive work supporting women's mental health, caregivers, and individuals confronting significant life changes—from divorce and midlife transitions to serious health diagnoses. I am committed to creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, build inner strength, and develop meaningful pathways toward personal growth and emotional wellness.
How does couples therapy work and how can it help?
Couples therapy gives both partners space to slow down and really hear each other—often for the first time in a while. I help you untangle recurring conflicts, get to the root of what each person is trying to express, and rebuild trust through clearer communication and emotional honesty. It’s not about choosing sides or assigning blame. It’s about helping you understand the patterns that keep you stuck and learning how to reconnect with empathy and accountability. Whether you’re trying to repair after distance or strengthen a good relationship that’s lost its spark, the work is about moving toward each other again—intentionally.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
You don’t have to be falling apart to start therapy. It’s not about being “broken”—it’s about being human and wanting things to feel a little less heavy. Therapy isn’t someone fixing you; it’s a space where you get to stop performing and start being honest—with yourself most of all. You set the pace. You keep control. My job is simply to help you untangle what’s been weighing on you and find steadier ground. If you’ve been thinking about it but holding back, that hesitation already tells me you care about doing the work right—and that’s a pretty good place to begin.
How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When I work with anxiety, I see it as your body’s way of trying to keep you safe—even when it overdoes it. Together, we slow things down enough to understand what’s underneath the tension and racing thoughts. I teach tools for calming the nervous system and gently reconnecting with your own sense of steadiness. We’ll explore both the surface triggers and the deeper stories that fuel the worry, so you can respond to stress from a calmer, more centered place. My style is warm, straightforward, and rooted in helping you build trust in yourself again.
How do you work with clients with grief?
Grief is not something to “get over”—it’s something we learn to live alongside. I hold space for all the ways loss shows up: the numbness, anger, confusion, even the moments of unexpected peace. Together, we work on making sense of what’s changed without rushing your healing. My role is to help you stay connected—to what’s been lost, to what still matters, and to the parts of yourself that grief can make hard to reach. There’s no timeline here, only compassion and room to breathe.
