Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
Since I was young, I've been drawn to jobs where I could make a significant difference in people's lives. I decided to become a therapist because I believe empathy and understanding can change lives. What keeps me going is the feeling of joy and fulfillment when I see my clients heal, grow, and find happiness. Every client has a different journey, and I feel honored to be a part of their path to self-discovery and healing. It's not just about getting over obstacles; it's about helping people see their strengths and potential. The process of change and growth is what drives me. It gives me the chance to change someone's life, and that's why I love my job.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
Seeking therapy can be intimidating due to the need to reveal personal information to a new person. Feeling hesitant is natural as it involves taking a risk, but therapy can provide a safe space where you are truly heard and understood. It presents an opportunity to explore thoughts and feelings openly without judgment, gain guidance, and access practical tools for overcoming life's hurdles more confidently.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
In my therapy sessions, I prioritize creating a warm and welcoming space centered around the needs of each client. Together, we take a solution-focused approach, identifying your strengths and using them to address your challenges. I believe in encouraging and empowering my clients to recognize their potential and discover practical ways to overcome their struggles.
We will work at a speed that is comfortable and suitable for you, making sure there is a balance between support and challenge. I will offer guidance and advice but also gently push you out of your comfort zone when necessary to help you grow and change. Our sessions will be a safe space where you feel heard and respected, and we will work together to create strategies that address your current issues and promote your overall wellbeing and fulfillment in the long term.
