Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because I believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel truly heard and supported. Many individuals struggle with feelings of isolation, often feeling like they have no one to turn to. My motivation stems from the desire to provide that safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can openly express themselves, process their emotions, and find empowerment. Seeing individuals gain clarity, develop effective coping strategies, and transform their lives drives my commitment to this work. Helping people navigate life’s challenges and witnessing their progress is deeply rewarding, and it continues to fuel my passion for therapy.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For those hesitant to try therapy, it’s important to know that therapy isn’t just for times of crisis or intense challenges. Therapy is an opportunity to explore personal growth, learn new coping skills, and gain insights into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It provides a non-judgmental space where you can process your feelings, manage stress, and develop healthier ways to navigate life’s ups and downs. Therapy can benefit anyone looking to improve their well-being, increase self-awareness, and build resilience for everyday life.
What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
A typical session with me is collaborative and client-centered, focused on meeting you exactly where you are in your unique journey. I believe that our life experiences shape who we are, and the therapeutic process should begin by honoring your personal narrative. During each session, I strive to ensure that you feel seen, heard, and supported, creating a non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions openly.
Our work together involves identifying areas of concern and developing healthy coping strategies tailored to your individual needs. Through collaboration, we focus on navigating life's challenges, whether related to anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress. My goal is to empower you to develop the skills necessary for a more fulfilling and balanced life.
In each session, we might engage in reflective conversations, practice mindfulness techniques, or explore new perspectives to help you manage emotions and find clarity.
