About Jennifer
I believe we are all different by design and I enjoy partnering with parents to help children like yours who may be struggling with issues like emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, attention, and relationships at home, school, and/or community. Seeing children struggle turned my pain into passion for working with children and their families.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider (CIMHP), I love working with children with ADHD, anxiety, grief, mood disorders, and trauma backgrounds. I engage children in therapeutic approaches like play, art, and trauma informed approaches to take the “heaviness” away from the therapeutic process.
I am excited to partner with you to see how we can go work together to go from chaos to connection and from surviving to thriving!
Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
As a mother and grandmother of some amazing neurodivergant children, their struggles became my passion. I wanted to help children and families find natural approaches to help create better connection in relationships, learn to advocate for themselves, learn strategies to manage the struggles each unique child has, and find their strengths to help them thrive.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
Finding a therapist that clicks with you make all the difference. Feelings of rapport and trust are vital to therapy outcomes. It is also important to be on the same page with approach. With children, play therapy is a natural way for children to work through presenting problems. When you can find a therapist that clicks with your child and you, you will find therapy isn't as scary and can be very effective.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
I love to really get to know my kiddos and their families so we can partner together to find the best approach to reach our goals. I look at each child as a whole person with a voice that is valued so they can grow in confidence and advocate for themselves.
