About Jennifer
Are you like me and have found when I seek to change anything in my life it is the most exciting, terrifying, rewarding, difficult and life altering experience? Deepak Chopra once said, “All great changes are preceded by chaos.” I have found this sentiment to be true in my personal life. Making the decision to change is a difficult choice, but I believe, the true path to healing and joy. In my career I have the pleasure of getting to know many different people from different walks of life and individuals in different phases. I have found the desire to better oneself to be the most amazing and rewarding work I could ever ask for.
Passion brought me into this field and to this day drives my work. I try to work with each of my clients individually, getting to know each person and cater my practice to ways to work with you specifically. No two people are alike, so why should I do the same therapy with every client. I am a therapist who will get to know you and work to understand you.
I have seen the ways that therapy can produce change, from my own personal work to the work I do with my clients. I look forward to all new clients who come into my life and I can’t wait to get to know each of you. "Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced." Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I don't know that a calling is something that you need motivation for. Therapy is my calling. I believe that everyone deserves a chance to find happiness, peace and contentment. Therapy is a road to finding these things and my personal values lie in the desire to help others grow and change into their best selves. I find great passion and joy in working with other people and having the privilege of journeying with them to better mental health. The road is often hard, but the reward is always work the hardship.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
My personal philosophy is that you will know if we can work together after one meeting. Therapy only works when the client and the therapist both feel they are the right fit. When this happens then growth and change is possible. I don't allow my ego to come into the office. I am not the correct therapist for everyone and I don't mind encouraging my client's to find the correct therapist if I am not compatible with them. I believe strongly in the healing power of therapy, but this will only occur when you find the right therapist.
