How do you work with clients with anxiety?

For clients with anxiety, I employ a comprehensive approach that includes creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment. I use evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral techniques to address anxiety symptoms and help clients develop coping strategies. Medication management may be considered if appropriate. Additionally, I focus on understanding each client’s unique experiences and cultural context to tailor treatment effectively and empower them in managing their anxiety.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

I would tell those hesitant to try therapy that it’s a valuable and supportive step towards understanding and improving their mental health. Therapy provides a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. It’s an opportunity to gain insights, develop coping strategies, and work towards personal growth with the guidance of a compassionate professional. Taking this step can lead to significant improvements in your well-being and overall quality of life.

How do you work with clients with depression?

With clients experiencing depression, I use a holistic and patient-centered approach. I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and creating a safe space for open discussion. Treatment may include evidence-based therapies, medication management if needed, and support in setting and achieving personal mental health goals. I also emphasize cultural competence and empower clients by involving them actively in their treatment plan.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

People considering working with me should know that I am a compassionate and culturally sensitive practitioner who values a holistic, patient-centered approach. I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel heard and respected. My goal is to empower patients on their mental health journey, focusing on collaboration and personalized care.

What do therapy sessions with you look like?

Therapy sessions with me are centered on creating a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space. Each session typically begins with a discussion of the client’s current concerns and goals. We work together to explore emotions, challenges, and progress, using a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to the individual's needs. I emphasize cultural sensitivity and empowerment, ensuring that the client feels heard and respected. Sessions may include goal-setting, skill-building, and discussing strategies for managing symptoms and improving overall well-being.

How does emotionally focused therapy work and how can it help?

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) works by focusing on identifying, exploring, and addressing emotions that impact behavior and relationships. It helps individuals understand and process their emotional experiences, which can lead to healthier responses and improved relationships. In therapy, we work to uncover and address underlying emotional patterns and attachment issues, helping clients develop more secure and supportive relationships. This approach can enhance emotional awareness, improve communication, and strengthen the therapeutic bond, ultimately leading to better emotional regulation and relational satisfaction.

How can you provide care remotely?

I provide remote care through telehealth services, allowing patients to access mental health support from the comfort of their own homes. This approach ensures that care is accessible, convenient, and flexible, while still maintaining a strong therapeutic relationship.
