I am committed to helping individuals, couples, and families reach their counseling goals. I believe in creating a safe, trustworthy, and growth-promoting environment where clients can process their thoughts, feelings, and experiences resulting in self-actualized healing. My work focuses on providing empathic listening, nonjudgmental acceptance, and interactive feedback. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; therefore, I integrate different evidence-based techniques based on each client’s individual needs.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
During my adolescence, my family, like many, was faced with adversities which later led me to seek personal therapy as a young adult. My own journey allowed me to process my thoughts and feelings which resulted in growth and self-awareness. My positive experience contributed to my passion for the field of psychology and inspired me to want to provide hope and healing for others. I pursued my undergraduate degree in Psychology, then later obtained my graduate degree in Counseling. It is my true pleasure to be a part of my client’s journey, to watch them grow, and to find relief from their distress.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
In my life, I aim to love people unconditionally, which involves valuing their unique self without judgement, and recognizing that their feelings and experiences are valid even if they differ from my own. This is similar to my treatment philosophy which includes providing unconditional positive regard, validation, and empathy resulting in client growth. I value health, both physically and mentally, and aim to help my clients reach their potential in becoming the best version of themselves.
What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
A first session with me typically consists of reviewing your informed consent, which includes discussing expectations for the therapy process and answering any questions you may have. Next, I will gather information in order to get to know you, illicit a brief history, and collaboratively set goals for counseling. The first session also gives you an opportunity to get to know me so that we can determine if we are the right fit for one another. It’s important to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship in order for counseling to be most effective. In subsequent sessions, I empower my client to take the lead in processing their feelings and experiences with my support and guidance.
