About Jolene

Hello! I'm Dr. Jo. I consider myself a creative, innovative, and authentic human. Along with providing direct care to clients, I have been leading clinical teams in diverse community mental health settings. I hold a Ph.D. in Psychology, am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, and a National Certified Counselor. My specialties include trauma recovery for individuals and couples. My experiences have resulted in being an innovative therapist and in my therapeutic practice, I utilize holistic psychotherapy approaches like CBT, DBT EMDR while honoring clients social and cultural influences.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

Growing up in rural south Texas, I saw a need for mental health care that was accessible and affordable. I love walking the journeys my clients are experiencing. When a client shares a success with me, I am honored to celebrate it with them.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

Therapy can be daunting and overwhelming. As a therapist, it is my passion to walk with you. I am your co-pilot. We will get to where you feel you need to be together.

How can you provide care remotely?

I use a HIPPA compliant Electronic Healthcare Record System called Therapynotes. You can be confident that our sessions and your records are private and confidential. Clients can access their client portal with their phone, a tablet, or computer from wherever they feel most comfortable.
