Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I learned through professional And personal experience that mental illness is tough, but often times treatable.  The right intervention, coupled with a skilled clinician can help mitigate psychic pain.  Providing a welcoming space for clients to download their narrative is one of the most important pieces of the work. This space is often times the only place clients can feel unburdened, and simultaneously connected.   Providing this support as a means of diminishing isolation is a unique and rewarding experience.  Sharing concrete tools and skills with clients overlaps with my passion for education.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

Everyone needs a little help sometime.  The human condition is filled with difficult passages, but attending therapy can break the isolation that oft comes with psychic pain. With the right treatment,  therapy fosters Coping mechanisms, and positive change. It does not have to be a long term endeavor, many clients get to a better place within 6 months.  Remember…Mental health challenges are largely treatable.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

My style is described as warm, empathic and open.  I will always provide a safe space for your concerns, without any judgement.  The sessions are always client centered, your goals and needs take center stage at every session.
