About Karina
You know how sometimes we examine our situation and wonder how it is that we got here? There's so much going on in the world today. In examining our current state we can experience a mixture of emotions: fear, frustration, and a longing for something different. This is normal. However, sometimes these feelings can become more overwhelming than we would like, and they begin to affect us in different areas of our life such as work, family, and relationships.
If you are struggling with anxiety or dealing with a major event in your life, I can help. You have choices when it comes to your career, relationships, and family. I will speak with you openly about your feelings and help you to gain new perspectives and solutions.
I work closely with men and women facing various challenges, including how to deal with grief, a complicated relationship, family, work, and societal problems. My approach to healing combines traditional therapies with holistic approaches, while drawing on the individual’s spiritual practices and developing new coping strategies.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
Believe it or not, I stared my career as a Financial Analyst. I would volunteer at a local hospital after work and on the weekends. I would visit patients who rarely received visitors. We would do art and complete puzzles... but mostly we would talk about their experiences and discuss their mental and physical pain. For those who did have visitors, I would get to know them and their families. This experience motivated me to attend graduate school over ten years ago to become a Mental Health Counselor. Helping others comes naturally to me. Through the process of changing my career, I have also grown an affinity for helping professionals align their work with their values and cope with any challenging career/office related situations.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
We've all been hesitant before. Sometimes when the water looks cold, I like to dip my toe in first. It's okay to dip your toe in the water! Try booking a consultation first. Take one step at a time. It's okay to go at your own pace. I work to respect the individual needs of my clients
