About Me
Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

My inspiration for being a therapist was born during my sophomore year for college when I was struggling to stay out of academic probation. I was sitting in a Psychology 101 class, hoping for an easy ‘A,’ when the professor started talking about anxiety. In that moment it clicked, that’s what I’d been struggling with! In the process of seeking support and trying to understand what I was dealing with, I encountered so many obstacles from having to hurdle over my own bias’ to finding the right therapist. Through it all, it frustrated me that it had taken over 18 years of my life to have access to information about mental health. Thus, my desire to become a therapist was born out of the desire to bring mental health information and services that are simple, high quality and accessible to the community.

About Me
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

Even as a therapist sometimes the idea of doing my own therapy can be overwhelming so you aren't alone in your hesitation. Try to remember that therapy is going to be uncomfortable because you'll be doing hard work but with the right therapist you will feel like you aren't enduring that journey alone. Tips to find your perfect therapist: - Ask for a free consultation so that you can get a feel for the therapist's personality - Ask questions about how the therapist conducts their sessions, so that you can eliminate some of that air of mystery that comes with working with someone new. - If you have done therapy in the past, reflect on what worked and what didn't because it can be helpful for your new therapist to know about that.

About Me
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I am an active therapist. What I mean by that is, I see our sessions as a collaborative effort so I often provide feedback, counterarguments, and challenge my clients. I am a strong believer that we need to critically assess what we are going through to understand why it's happening, how to navigate it better, and the impact that it may have on us in the future. In session I always aim to help clients understand themselves better and find comfort in that.
