About Kelly

Welcome! I'm Kelly L. Fink, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for fostering whole-person health care. My mission is to be a part of the solution to our community's and nation's lack of available mental health providers by providing care to those who need it most, how they need it, and when they need it. I have a special interest in helping individuals manage serious mental health conditions, as well as depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and addiction across all ages. Since November 2023, I've been providing comprehensive mental health services at Whole Mind Whole Body Health in Las Vegas, where I offer psychiatric evaluations, supportive and motivational therapy, and medication management. Additionally, since June 2021, I've been part of the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada's family medicine team. Here, I take pride in caring for a wide range of chronic and acute psychiatric and physical health issues. Education is key to my practice; I strive to empower patients and their families with knowledge to maintain stability and prevent crises. My background also includes serving as a Senior Airman in the US Air Force where I utilized my linguistic skills to support vital missions. This unique experience has enriched my ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals. If you're looking for compassionate, knowledgeable care tailored to your mental and physical well-being, let's connect. Your journey toward better health is my priority.

How do you work with clients with anxiety?

Clients struggling with anxiety receive individualized care focused on reducing symptoms and improving overall well-being. I utilize a combination of therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and relaxation techniques, to help clients manage their anxiety effectively. Medication management may also be considered based on the severity of symptoms and individual preferences. Additionally, I emphasize empowering clients with coping skills and self-care strategies to build resilience and regain control over their lives.

How do you work with clients with depression?

When working with clients experiencing depression, my approach emphasizes compassionate support and evidence-based interventions. I conduct thorough assessments to understand the factors contributing to their depression and develop personalized treatment plans. This may include medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, and referrals to other support services as needed. I prioritize building a therapeutic alliance with clients to foster trust and collaboration in their journey towards recovery.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals of all ages. My treatment philosophy is centered around whole-person health care, focusing on addressing both mental and physical well-being. I prioritize listening to my patients and collaborating with them to develop personalized treatment plans that meet their unique needs. With a background in linguistics and military service, I bring diverse experiences and skills to my practice, enhancing my ability to communicate effectively and understand the complex needs of my clients. If you're seeking thorough, individualized care that prioritizes your well-being, I am here to support you on your journey towards better health.

What do therapy sessions with you look like?

Initial Visit (Telehealth) - 90 minutes An initial visit involves a medical history review, an assessment of your specific symptoms and concerns, and possible diagnostic tests to evaluate a patient's health, identify issues, and develop and discuss treatment options. Follow-up Visit (Telehealth) - 45 minutes A follow-up visit involves checking the progress of the patient's treatment plan, assessing any new symptoms or concerns, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed to ensure optimal health outcomes. Medication Refill (Telehealth) - 30 minutes A medication refill appointment typically involves a brief review of his/her existing patient's medical history, confirming the need for the medication refill, and issuing a new prescription. It may also involve evaluating any side effects or concerns related to the medication and ensuring that the treatment plan is still appropriate for the patient's needs.

How can you provide care remotely?

I offer remote care options to provide convenient and accessible mental health services to clients. Through telehealth platforms, I conduct virtual psychiatric evaluations, therapy sessions, and medication management appointments. Remote care allows clients to receive support from the comfort of their own environment, eliminating barriers such as transportation issues and geographical constraints. I ensure confidentiality and privacy during remote sessions, maintaining the same standard of care as in-person visits.

How do you work with clients with bipolar disorder?

I approach working with clients with bipolar disorder by providing comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs. This includes conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations to understand their unique experiences and challenges. Treatment often involves a combination of medication management and supportive therapy to help stabilize mood fluctuations and prevent relapses. Additionally, I focus on psychoeducation to empower clients and their families with knowledge about the condition, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies to promote stability and enhance quality of life.
