About Kindra

Located outside of Austin, TX. Since graduating from Texas State University with a Master's in Professional Counseling, I have gained over 15 years of experience in working with individuals and families with addiction issues. I have worked with both adolescents and adults. I have experience dealing with issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. My approach to counseling to be the person to help guide you on your journey and provide outside insight and observation. I used humor and laughter during session and believe it is an important tool. What's your experience with clients with anxiety?

Anxiety is one of the issues I work with my clients on most. I believe anxiety is fear based and want to help others identify what it is and how to address it.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I became a counselor because I have a passion to help others to create their best selves.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

Just try it! Most people are hesitant because therapy can be scary. It is scary to share parts of yourself with another person. However, once you take the plunge, it will be the most rewarding experience.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I use humor during my sessions. You will get a lot of corny dad level jokes and pop culture references. Especially cartoon and superhero based.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?

You are in charge of your session and in control. I believe in letting my clients determine where we go each session and I don't come with a pre-planned agenda or focus. You drive the bus with me and I am here to guide you and help you along the way by providing a different point of view.
