Lakeisha Walker, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of The Healing Place Psychiatry. With nearly a decade of healthcare experience, she is dedicated to helping adults improve their mental health, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.
Lakeisha specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, burnout, and life transitions. She has a particular passion for working with hardworking professionals, caregivers, and high achievers who often spend so much time caring for others that their own well-being takes a back seat. She understands the unique pressures these individuals face and strives to provide a supportive space where they can focus on their own healing and growth.
Her approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. Lakeisha believes that effective psychiatric treatment begins with listening and understanding each person's unique experiences, challenges, and goals. She works closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that may include medication management, education, and supportive therapeutic interventions tailored to their individual needs.

How does cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) work and how can it help?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to emotional distress. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By recognizing negative thought patterns and learning healthier ways to respond to challenges, clients can improve their mood, reduce anxiety, and develop more effective coping skills. CBT can be especially helpful for anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, and life transitions, empowering clients to make meaningful changes that support long-term emotional well-being.
How do you work with clients with women's issues?
I provide a supportive and compassionate space for women navigating the unique challenges that can arise throughout different stages of life. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship concerns, motherhood, caregiving responsibilities, career stress, life transitions, or struggles with self-esteem, my goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we explore the factors affecting your emotional well-being, identify practical coping strategies, and develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your mental, emotional, and overall wellness.
