How does cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) work and how can it help?

Improved coping mechanisms, self-awareness, and positive behavior change are the results of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a method that is supported by research. CBT helps identify and confront harmful thought patterns. It is useful, powerful, and specifically designed to address issues like anxiety, sadness, and more.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

My dedication to helping others was cultivated through my academic journey. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas Woman's University and pursued a Master's degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington. My extensive education, combined with personal experiences and a passion for holistic healing, positions me as a compassionate and empathetic partner on your path to well-being.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

It is, in my opinion, very reasonable to be wary of beginning counseling. It's a brave move in the direction of your wellbeing and progress. Keep in mind that therapy is a secure, private setting where you may explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of rejection. It's not about being "broken," but rather about receiving insightful knowledge, practical skills, and encouragement to live a more contented life. Give it a go; you might be pleasantly surprised by the transformations it can effect. You deserve to feel your best, never forget that.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I want anybody thinking about working with me to know that I approach therapy with respect, sensitivity, and a dedication to your well-being. I provide a tailored route to healing by fusing holistic traditions with evidence-based methods. By giving you a secure and accepting environment for your path toward development and constructive change, I hope to empower you. We'll take little steps toward achieving your objectives together. My primary priorities are seeing to your development and wellbeing.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?

Experience a warm and welcoming atmosphere during sessions with LaQuindra. Here, you'll find the comfort of confiding in a trusted friend. Whether you're grappling with trauma, depression, relationship challenges, or anxiety, she's your steadfast companion. Together, you'll navigate through challenges, emerging stronger and enlightened. LaQuindra is dedicated to supporting you throughout your ongoing journey.

How does mindfulness-based therapy (MBCT) work and how can it help?

In order to promote awareness of thoughts and emotions, particularly in connection to depression, anxiety, or stress, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) blends mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy approaches. Through conscious awareness, it aids people in strengthening their resilience, avoiding relapses, and enhancing their general wellbeing.

How can you provide care remotely?

Through private and secure video conferencing technologies, I provide remote treatment. This enables us to conduct in-person meetings in real time while you relax in your own home. I also use email and encrypted chat for intersession contact. In this way, even when we aren't in a live session, you may get continuing support, direction, and resources. You may be sure that in our online communications, your privacy and confidentiality are top priorities.
